A tight and firm fit of the tire on the rim is crucial for a proper transmission of road feedback. But easy mounting must be considered, too. Both has been achieved by adjusting the inner diameter of the steel cable bundle and the rubber gauge underneath, the bead thickness, so called chip width, and the taper angle of the bead.
